
Our heritage locomotives
R 707 is our signature steam locomotive, part of an original fleet of 70 locomotives built for the Victorian Railways. R 707 features on many of our day and weekend slow rail journey broad gauge trains over cooler period of the year.
A 62 is part of our fleet high horsepower diesel electric locomotives, painted in original V/Line orange and grey livery. A 62 was restored to service on broad gauge in 2024 following retirement from regular services in 2015.
S 300 and S 306 form part of our high horsepower fleet diesel electric locomotives, on standard and broad gauge respectively.
T 413, T 387 and T 392 form the backbone of our diesel electric locomotive fleet across both standard and broad gauge operations. These locomotives can be seen shunting around our workshops, as well as on many of our day and weekend slow rail journey trains.
P13 and P20 form part of our fleet diesel electric locomotives, on standard and broad gauge respectively. Our P Class locomotives can be seen on our day and weekend slow rail journey trains.
Y127 is our resident diesel electric shunting locomotive for our Newport workshops. Y127 forms an important role putting together our day and weekend slow rail journey trains, and occasionally joins the train for a mainline run.
F317 is an English Electric diesel electric shunting locomotive. F317 resides in its original red with gold strip livery and can mainly be seen as our resident shunter at our Newport workshops
